Alexander Valley Cabernet from the Duckhorn family — structured, generous, and built for the table.
Alexander Valley is Sonoma County's warmest appellation, tucked inland along the Russian River corridor where the Pacific fog rarely reaches. The result is Cabernet Sauvignon of unusual generosity — riper and more approachable than Napa's mountain AVAs, yet with the structure and depth to reward cellaring. Decoy Limited is Duckhorn's premium California label, and the 2022 vintage produced a wine of exceptional concentration and balance.
Tasting Notes
Dark plum, blackberry, and a hint of mocha on the nose, with a touch of toasted oak adding complexity. The palate is full and generous — ripe fruit, smooth tannins, and a warmth that is distinctly Alexander Valley. Not a wine that demands patience, but one that rewards it.
The Finish
Long and fruit-forward, with a soft, velvety close that makes this one of the most immediately satisfying Cabernets in our selection.
