High on Spring Mountain, where the vines work hard for every drop.
Barnett's 'Rattlesnake' is named for the rugged terrain of their Spring Mountain estate — and it carries that character in every glass. The 2022 vintage is more approachable in its youth than previous years, but don't let that fool you. This is still a serious, structured Cabernet with the depth and mountain acidity to reward patience.
Tasting Notes
Fruit-forward and generous from the first pour — fresh blackberry and raspberry jam lead the way, with layers of anise, cocoa nibs, fresh coffee grounds, vanilla, and black pepper woven underneath. On the palate it's round and plush, with big blackberry fruit and mocha, all anchored by wonderful chalky tannins that are the hallmark of great mountain Cabernet.
The Finish
Long and satisfying, with raspberry and cocoa lingering well after the glass is empty.
