Los Carneros Chardonnay from one of Sonoma's most celebrated vineyard families — precise, aromatic, and built to age.
The Sangiacomo family has farmed the Carneros appellation for over four decades, and their vineyards are among the most sought-after addresses in California. Straddling the Sonoma-Napa border at the northern tip of San Pablo Bay, Carneros is shaped by cool maritime air and morning fog that rolls in from the Pacific — conditions that preserve natural acidity and produce white wines of uncommon freshness and longevity. Barnett Vineyards, known primarily for its Spring Mountain Cabernets, brings the same precision and restraint to this single-vineyard Chardonnay.
The 2023 vintage delivered a long, even growing season with cool mornings and warm afternoons — ideal for Chardonnay of exceptional aromatic clarity and structural balance.
Tasting Notes
A beautiful light gold in the glass. The nose is lifted and expressive — fresh pear, caramel, and honeycomb open to guava, white pepper, and delicate florals of jasmine and honeysuckle. The palate is medium-weight with more stone fruit and floral flavour, framed by a lively, precise acidity that keeps everything fresh and focused.
The Finish
Long and honeysuckle-scented, with a mineral freshness that speaks directly to the cool Carneros terroir. A wine that rewards patience — drink now or cellar through 2031.
What the Critics Say
- Barnett Vineyards — "Wonderfully accessible in its youth, but the lively acidity will allow this wine to age nicely over the next 7–8 years."
