Spring Mountain's finest — youthful energy with serious bones.
Barnett Vineyards has farmed Spring Mountain for decades, and the 'Spring Mountain District' Cabernet is their estate expression of this rugged, high-altitude appellation. The 2022 shows beautifully in its youth — vibrant, expressive, and already impressive — but with the structure and mountain acidity to age gracefully through 2033–2034 and beyond.
Tasting Notes
Deep dark purple in the glass. Black cherry, raspberry, and cassis dominate the aromatics, with tobacco, cigar box, and dark volcanic earth as compelling underpinning elements. On the palate, darker berry fruits are matched with dark chocolate and cedar, while chalky but soft tannins — softer than previous vintages — are beautifully balanced by the estate's signature mountain acidity.
The Finish
A beautiful long black cherry finish that lingers with elegance and precision.
