One of Italy's oldest white grapes — a living link to Sardinia's Phoenician past.
Nuragus is Sardinia's most ancient white grape, with origins traced to Phoenician settlers who arrived on the island over 3,000 years ago. Its name derives from the island's iconic bronze-age nuraghe towers — the mysterious stone structures that dot the Sardinian landscape and define its prehistoric identity. Cantina Santadi's expression is a rare opportunity to taste a variety that exists almost nowhere else in the world.
Tasting Notes
Straw yellow tending to golden. The nose offers yellow fruit, a hint of butter, and a delicate floral note that adds intrigue. On the palate, delicate and full-bodied with a pleasant softness and the characteristic lean, crisp acidity that makes Nuragus so food-friendly.
The Finish
Lean and crisp, with a clean mineral close that pairs beautifully with raw oysters, bottarga, grilled branzino, and the seafood traditions of the Sardinian coast.
