Red Mountain Cabernet — Washington State's most powerful appellation, at its most compelling.
Canvasback is Duckhorn Wine Company's Washington State label, built around the conviction that Red Mountain produces some of America's finest Cabernet Sauvignon. This compact AVA — one of the smallest and warmest in Washington — sits above the Yakima Valley, where thin, rocky soils and intense sun exposure push the vines to produce fruit of extraordinary concentration and mineral depth. The 2021 vintage delivered incredible power, ripeness, and intensity.
Tasting Notes
Alluring aromas of black raspberry, marionberry, and Bing cherry, with hints of minerality and moist, loamy earth. On the palate, layers of juicy, ripe fruit are framed by bright acidity and firm tannins, with notions of loamy earth and wet river rocks emerging throughout.
The Finish
Long and luscious, with dark fruit and mineral complexity carrying through to a satisfying, persistent close.
