The man who changed wine history doesn't make Sauvignon Blanc — he makes Fumé Blanc, and the difference is everything.
Miljenko "Mike" Grgich put California white wine on the map at the 1976 Judgment of Paris. His Fumé Blanc follows the same uncompromising philosophy that won that blind tasting: no malolactic fermentation, and a commitment to pure varietal expression from Napa Valley fruit. Grgich Hills has farmed organically for decades — achieving formal certification in 2025, long after the philosophy was already embedded in the vineyard.
Tasting Notes Fresh lime, lemon verbena, and gooseberry on the nose. On the palate, lime, tangy star fruit, and green mango are framed by a lively, chiselled acidity that keeps everything focused and precise. No oak influence, no softening — Sauvignon Blanc stripped of every shortcut, which is exactly what Fumé Blanc was always meant to be.
The Finish Long and mineral, with a persistent slate quality that lingers well after the glass is empty. The kind of finish that makes you reach for another pour.
