Virginie de Valandraud Grand Cru 2016

7,500.00

Virginie de Valandraud was created in 1992. Virginie is the first name of Jean Luc and Murielle’s daughter.

Since the extension of the vineyard from the vintage 1997, Virginie de Valandaraud has its own identity. The vines come from the same plots and the winemaking is treated with the same care as Château Valandraud. Because of the constant excellence of the wine, Virginie de Valandraud is often considered to be the second wine of the Premier Grand Cru Classé: Châteu Valandraud.

Tasting Notes

Medium to deep garnet-purple in color, the 2016 Virginie de Valandraud offers gorgeous black cherries, mulberries and black raspberry scents with hints of star anise, violets and cumin seed. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is firmly structured with firm, velvety tannins and tons of freshness, lifting the perfumed black fruits to a long finish.
